Discus Awards scholarships recognize leaders on the dance team, drywall hangers supporting Habitat for Humanity, shift leaders at Starbucks, active youth group members, and social media gurus. Put simply, Discus Awards Scholarships recognize a new category of high school students: the all-around standout.
Provider Organization
- Name: Discus Awards
- Background: The Discus Awards are the next generation of high school awards, from the top of the college marketing field. In today’s changing landscape of college admissions, an award that focuses only on numbers doesn’t make the grade. The Discus Awards honor the kind of unconventional students colleges care about: all-around students who shine in at least three of ten "key attributes". Students in grades 9-12 can nominate themselves or their friends, and teachers, counselors, and parents can nominate someone they know. The Discus Awards spring from a partnership between longtime educational services company Campus Direct and the internationally regarded awards company Recognition Media.
