Hey Hannah - sorry for the delay in response, Mount Mary has been pretty busy this semester! Great question about health classes and nursing. One of the programs Mount Mary is known for is Nursing! The health career fields as a whole are huge with us. We also offer programs like Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Dietetics, a variety of pre-professional programs, Occupational Therapy and Radiologic Technology. The Nursing program is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program as a partnership with Columbia College of Nursing, just across town. Lots of great opportunities! Be sure to check out the website for lots of great info too!

Hi Tran,

ACT and SAT scores are always a concern of students when looking at applying to colleges! The best thing to keep in mind is that at Mount Mary, each student's application is reviewed on an individual basis. Not only do we look at your ACT or SAT scores, but we look at your course selection from high school, high school grades, subsection scores of your testing, essays, letters of recommendation, guidance counselor form, and any other pieces of information you will submit with it. We taken the "entire student" into consideration when evaluation a student's application.

If you have any other questions, or want to talk specifically about your scores - give us a call! We'd be more than happy to help answer specific questions you might have! 800-321-6265

Hi!

I was wondering if you have Funeral Service Education/Mortuary Sciences available as a declared major? If so, do you work with local funeral homes to be able to set-up an apprenticeship with the students?

Thanks!
Jenn

Hi Jenn!

What a great interest for a career. Unfortunately, Mount Mary College does not offer Funeral Service Education or any related field. Good luck in finding the perfect college fit for you. If you have any other questions, just be sure to let us know!

Good Luck!

Hello! =)

I have 2 questions:
How much are the fees?
How much are the books?
I am asking because I'm applying for this scholarship and it asks for how much money the fees are for Mount Mary, and also the books.

Thanks,
~Jacky~

Hi :)
I was wondering if your school had any classes for psychology? Mainly family, marriage, or child therapy.
Thanks :)

Hey Jessica,

We most certainly have classes in Psychology! Mount Mary has a Behavioral Science major which is a combination of Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology. Based on your interests in family, marriage, or child therapy, I would also recommend considering an undergraduate degree in social work, which Mount Mary offers. Then, you can apply for admission into the Master of Science in Counseling to become certified to work in those types of environments! If you go to the Mount Mary website, you can download the undergraduate bulletin which lists all the majors, minors, and classes. Here's the website: http://www.mtmary.edu/classes.htm

Good Luck!

Hi Katlin,

Forensic Science is a really interesting field! Although, at this time, Mount Mary does not offer any majors in that field. For a complete listing of the majors, minors, certificate, and graduate programs offered at Mount Mary, visit us online: http://www.mtmary.edu/academics.htm

Thanks - and good luck!!

I was wondering, what GPA is recommended to get accepted to this school?

Hi Monica,

What a great question! Mount Mary College looks at each student on a very individual basis. This means we look beyond your GPA or the ACT/SAT and look at the classes you have taken, what grades you received in certain classes, as well as other extra-curriculars and activities you have been involved in during high school. With that being said, the average GPA for our incoming freshmen is around a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, meaning there are students with higher GPAs and students with lower GPAs. If you would like, you can e-mail or call us and we can give you a better indication about acceptance for you specifically. The number here is 800-321-6265.

Hope that helped!!
