Laura Egstad ( votes)

Victory Christian School | Class of 2008 | Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA

About me: My name is Laura. I am extremely outgoing...but very introverted at times. I enjoy reading, writing, acting, and speaking. I love missions! I have gone on 7 missions trips and will be going to the Dominican Republic March 10-17. I am a hardworking student who prides myself in attaining amazing grades (I am currently ranked in the top 5% of my class). God is my source and my passion... without him I can do nothing. All of my awards and accolades are a result of his power and strength in me. I am a Christian (very involved at People's Church), love my family, my friends, and my dog, Lucy.

Activities: I am the Executive Female Chaplain of my high school.I work 3 part time jobs...(that's got to equal at least 1 full time right?), I am the Treasurer of the Teenage Republican's Club, member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and Oklahoma National Scholars.I love to write! Missions: Domin. Rep.

How would I move Mount Fuji: I would take a small spade, and every day for the rest of my life I would take 20 spades of dirt to a location of my choice. I would then instruct my children to do the same...until the mountain was eventually moved.

Cassandra Wesseln ( votes)

Willowbrook High School | Class of 2008 | , Illinois,

About me: Despite my passion for the scientific world, I tend to be a very imaginative person. In my free time, I wander aimlessly amidst the forests, read fantasy novels, and dream about the impossible world of fairies and wizards. Although I sound like a drifting breeze, I am deeply rooted in the reality of our world. From organizing genocide awareness nights for my community to advocating the importance of reading at the library, I am committed to the betterment of humanity. In a world engulfed by the dualities of laughter and vice, I desire to fuel my education for the hope of a promising tomorrow.

Activities: Adventuring through the wilderness, laughing up a storm with my dears, diving into the depths of imagination, pondering the ways of the world, reading into a blissful oblivion, performing musically/artistically/intellectually, being awestruck with inspiration, and of course, being a hobbit :D

How would I move Mount Fuji: I would call upon the essence of every living creature & we would combine our hands, paws, wings, and fins to move Mount Fuji. When the entire living world has a common aspiration, there must be something mystical in that notion. Or, we could cover it with Mt. Be-Gone! *Available @ local pharmacies*

You can't tie Laura down- she's all over the place! I'm liking her chances. Nancy, is that a suck-and-cut? Last time I saw one of those was on Wayne's World. I'm not sure how that will help your chances, but you go girl! Btw- I'm a big Tina Fey fan and also hope you use your rapping skills to your advantage in this competition.

Cassie is a contributor to society. A few years ago she donated one of her sculptures as part of an auction my art students participated in to raise money for a school in New Orleans devastated by Katrina.

Recently, during Cassie’s senior year, she contacted me and asked if I needed any help with my after school enrichment program. I informed her that I was just starting a mural project with students that would be taken and presented to Former President Carter at a Habitat for Humanity event.

Cassie brought her talents and enthusiasm to the project and was also an inspiration and role model for my students. Cassie truly was my “angel” during the project. Furthermore, Cassie’s genuine personality makes her a remarkable person who is driven to be of service to the world.

Laura comes from a wonderful supportive family. She is brilliant and would be an addition to any group. She is the best of the best. Laura is looking towards a very successful and promising future. It would be a very serious tragedy if Laura did not win.

cassie has got to be the most generous, outgoing, thoughtful, and down to earth person that i know. not only does she make me laugh like no other, but she contributes so much to school, the community, and just everyone that she comes in contact with. she's so tenacious and amazing that there are really no words to describe just how great she is. :]

Cassie rocks! She is a very valuable member of society. A person who takes part in literally every opportunity that comes her way. She is great at language (English 12 AP). Phenomenal at the sciences (AP Chem) and still has time to give to her friends and acquaintances. She is truly a person to look up to. Please vote for this spectacular person!
