The Matchup

the peeps.

Jessica Hye Jin Lee ( votes)

John A Rowland High School | Class of 2009 | Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA

About me:

Activities: I love walking down unfamiliar streets. I love riding longboard with my heels on. I love traveling on the East Coast via $1 megabus and having small talks with random people I meet on my trip. I love writing down my thoughts on my journal. I love my life, simple or rough.

How would I move Mount Fuji: I would look at it upside-down! Perspective determines many things, doesn't it?

Liushuo Wan ( votes)

Walnut High School | Class of 2008 | Walnut, California, USA

About me: A friend once told me a story about a driver. That driver spent all his time focusing in front of him or behind him that he failed the notice surroundings. Well, I am glad that I am not that driver. The flaw with that person was that he focused either too much in the future or the past that he failed to notice his current surroundings. Unlike him, I try to focus on the present and what I can accomplish now instead of what I can accomplish in the future. Instead of wanting to impact the world, I attempt to impact it by living with a positive attitude, to impact everyone who I interact with.

Activities: Public Relations Officer of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Student Leader at Church Youth Group, Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Track and Field, I used to tutor elementary school kids, currently tutor a student with a disability, Relay for Life, Simple Faith, Interact, WishMakers

How would I move Mount Fuji: I would do it by praying for the strength and diligence to move it. Then I would get a bucket and start to move it.

Shout Outs: University of Pennsylvania , UC Irvine , Cornell University ...(View all)

Ms Lee was the top vote-getter in the semis. Strut your stuff Hye Jin, we've all tipped our hats to you as you advance with style... ok, that's over- now you've got a Cinderella to consider. Vegas is saying a 16 seed has never beaten a 1 seed. But you can bet that someone, somewhere, is taking that chance. Me? i'm keeping tight lipped.

I believe that Randy Wan should win this matchup. Hye Lee is going to be graduating in 2009, and does not need this scholarship grant as immediately as Randy. She can have her chance next year, but for now, Randy needs this a lot more than her.

Randy is one of those people these things should happen to, you know?

Hye Jin absolutely deserves this scholarship! I can't imagine how much she had to go through to accomplish this much as a student who came from Korea only 4 years ago. It's hard even to catch up to the students who were born here, but she accomplished so many more things and beyond!

i know Hye Jin personally, and i know that she is one of, if not the hardest working student i've come across in life. It is not atypical to find that she is awake at 3 AM in the morning preparing for a test that is a week away still, as most nights she only sleeps for three hours to do everything she needs to. She deserves this scholarship.
