Cassandra Wesseln ( votes)

Willowbrook High School | Class of 2008 | , Illinois,

About me: Despite my passion for the scientific world, I tend to be a very imaginative person. In my free time, I wander aimlessly amidst the forests, read fantasy novels, and dream about the impossible world of fairies and wizards. Although I sound like a drifting breeze, I am deeply rooted in the reality of our world. From organizing genocide awareness nights for my community to advocating the importance of reading at the library, I am committed to the betterment of humanity. In a world engulfed by the dualities of laughter and vice, I desire to fuel my education for the hope of a promising tomorrow.

Activities: Adventuring through the wilderness, laughing up a storm with my dears, diving into the depths of imagination, pondering the ways of the world, reading into a blissful oblivion, performing musically/artistically/intellectually, being awestruck with inspiration, and of course, being a hobbit :D

How would I move Mount Fuji: I would call upon the essence of every living creature & we would combine our hands, paws, wings, and fins to move Mount Fuji. When the entire living world has a common aspiration, there must be something mystical in that notion. Or, we could cover it with Mt. Be-Gone! *Available @ local pharmacies*

Philomath High School | Class of 2008 | Philomath, Oregon, USA

About me: My goal is to always continue improving myself. I respect any person or book, or any medium for that matter, that helps me reach my goal. The most important part of my life is my religion, but I don't like the stereotypes that go along with saying that, so I don't bring attention to it. I think any person should have a set of values that they live by, instead of making decisions depending on the situation. Human beings are too influenced by temporary emotions for that to be successful. I have specific short and long terms goals and don't expect anything less than success for my future.

Activities: volleyball, softball, Corvallis Youth Symphony, church activities and youth weekends, snowboarding, wakeboarding, reading books by Ayn Rand and any books that help me understand more about human nature, learning about autistic savants and the nervous system, hanging out with my twin, traveling

How would I move Mount Fuji: I will create a school where educators are made most effective by their use of the best information and technology. Students will be encouraged to make connections between facts in order to create new ideas. These new ideas will move mountains.Scroll down to type in security code, then click Vote Me

Ok Cassandra, are you running like the newest version of Photoshop or something? Nice photo enhancement! Kayleen is looking smug- does she know something we don’t know?

Michaelangelo once said: The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it. SO CASSIE, AIM FOR THE SKY, USE YOUR WINGS AND FLY!

Anyone that has met Kayleen knows that she is one of the most dedicated people you will ever meet (and you have to be if you get accepted into Vanderbilt!). She is so talented, yet humble, and she is ready to make a difference. Go Kayleen!

Kayleen totally needs this scholarships. Imagine being the parent of two high-achieving twins, and one of them going to Vanderbilt. We're talking more than $30,000 in tuition, and that's just for one kid - imagine sending off two children with tuitions that high. Vote for Kayleen, guys. She really needs this.

Of all the profiles I've seen in this tournament, Kayleen's is the only one that says "I will" instead of "I would" when it comes to moving Mount Fuji. Know why? Because it's not a hypothetical for her. She WILL be moving mountains, because she's one of the few people with the dedication and focus to do it. You have Attleboro's vote, Kayleen.
