So i was just wondering how many AP classes you have taken or will take?

My total is 7 when i graduate.
AP English
AP Calculus
AP United States History
AP French
AP Physics
AP Biology
AP World Civilization

And does anyone think its stupid how colleges look at your unweighted GPA instead of weighted?

I don't feel it is stupid to look at the unweighted gpa, because it sets everyone on the same scale. A good number of highschools do not offer ap courses, or offer very few, so it allows the students who attend to be acknowledged equally.

I will end up with:

AP U.S. History (taken and scored)
AP European History (taken)
AP Language and Composition (taken)
AP Calc BC (independent study & taken)
AP Literature and Composition
AP Physics B
AP Physics C
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics
AP Spanish

So that'll be ten. And I don't mind that colleges look at unweighted GPAs because they will take into account the differences in schools and what they have to offer, but what I do mind is that they are going to look at my class rank and think that, because my school doesn't weight at all, I am below people who got all A's while taking no AP classes just because I got one A- while independent studying AP Calc BC since I basically did all the coursework without a teacher, and everything else that I got A's in is infinitely harder than the classes that they got A's in. Now THAT is unfair.

The more competitive schools actually look at both and if the difference is more than 5 avg points, they look at the weighted [at least the 4 competitive schools I've visited do such].

My total will be nine when I graduate:

AP World History
AP Chemistry
AP American History
AP English Language
AP Psychology
AP French Lang
AP Calculus
AP English Literature
AP Government/AP Economics (both Semester classes)

I think it's dumb that some colleges only look at your unweighted GPA, but the more competitive ones also look at the weighted GPA.

I think it is a good idea to look at the unweighted because my high school doesn't weigh AP classes.

I will have taken 6:
AP Chemistry
AP Literatute
AP Calculus
AP Language
AP Physics
and college in the High school Spanish III

Well, colleges say they'll look at your school's curriculum to see how many AP's they offer/allow you to take; so as long as you've taken as many as your school will allow you, you should be fine :)

Some schools in my state add an instant 10 avg points to any Honors or AP class, which I think is ridiculous.

My school doesn't all that many AP's. Most of mine are a combination of 2 AP 1 semster courses, which I count as one.

Oh man... I won't have taken any AP classes by the time I graduate. Thing is, my school offers very few AP courses. I would love to take some of the courses you guys have listed, but my options are significantly more boring in the AP area, so I take the interesting classes that are, unfortunately, not AP.

I think I should have 10 by the time I graduate.

AP World History
AP U.S History
AP Gov/Economics
AP English Lang.
AP English Lit.
AP Spanish Lang.
AP Spanish Lit.
AP Chinese
AP Environmental Sci
AP Calculus

It sucks that many colleges look at unweighted GPA, but there are some that look at weighted and some at both and those that look at unweighted supposedly give you some extra points for taking harder classes.

I am very appreciative for the five points that is added to my AP classes. It also, for the most part, keeps kids who take easy classes for a better GPA out of the top 5%, which is nice. Some colleges keep the points other discredit them and still other reevaluate your GPA based on honors and AP classes. It's confusing!
I'll be taking 6 by the time I graduate:
AP Calculus AB
AP US History
AP Statistics
AP Language
AP Chemistry (I'll taking that my senior year and it scares me A LOT!)
AP Gov/AP Econ (both nine weeks each!)

AP Computer Science A (5 on test)
AP Computer Science AB
AP English Lit
AP Physics
AP Psychology
AP Calculus AB

and if I feel particularly suicidal I might also take AP World History or AP Chemistry.

Is any one taking AP Physics C? My school doesn't offer the course so I'm going to study independently.

When I graduate I will have taken 9 AP's

AP World History (taken)
AP Psychology (taken, and it was my favorite class ever)
AP US History (taken)
AP Language + Composition (taken)
AP Government
AP Economics
AP Calculus AB
AP Literature
AP European History

Has anyone taken AP Euro? I want to know if that is considered an easy AP test. I'm not sure if taking 5 AP's is going to be too stressful, so I might drop that one.

I loved AP Euro, and I got a five on the exam... but I worked my butt off all year, so I don't know if I'd consider it easy. It was rewarding and worthwhile, haha.

I will have..

World History
US History
English Lang
English Lit
Psychology
Government
Economics
European History
Calculus AB

So I guess nine...

But colleges can see your corse selections and stuff..so idk. My school weights like crazy. 10 points. Our val has a 107 this year. I think that's more ridiculous than anything else.

By the time I graduate I'll, sadly, will only have two APs: AP Biology and AP French. Which sucks because my school doesn't offer a lot of APs and the process of getting into APs in my school is so competitive. What sucks even more is that technically, I took an Honors class. My school used to have Ecological and Molecular Biology; my sophomore year I took Molecular Biology which was considered the hardest of the two--and it was! It was practically like an advance course. Then this past school year, my school changed Molecular Biology to Biology Honors! So that's a bummer since it won't show up on my transcript. I was qualified to take AP Chemistry, but I decided to take a creative writing class instead--a class that I'll enjoy and is closer to what I want to major in.

Hey Nathan! Have you already taken AP French or you're going to take it senior year?

i only have two, AP psychology and AP environmental science
but i was signed up to take AP bio, econ, and government next year and my schedule got all screwed up...blah blah blah long story... so now i will only have two. =[
ive taken all honors though, and i decently on the act (30) and i dont wanna go to like yale or somewhere that hardcore, so it shouldnt be too big of a deal (hopefully...im still kind of nervous.)
